Family Tree Update

The family tree is FINALLY relatively complete and available to everyone… We have successfully entered all of the people that were in Sue’s original tree as well as made all of the additions and modifications we have queued up during this process. I’ve also made many of the changes i’d like to on the website to make this available. I’ll probably never be done tweaking (i’m a geek after all) however its ready for people to poke around and give me feedback..

There are a couple of things to be aware of:

  • If you don’t have an account to access the tree yet you can get one by choosing ‘request access’ from the tree menu
  • If you’ve been using the ‘shared’ account please request access – i will be turning the shared account off soon
  • The tree is a slightly different site than the main site – to get back to the main site you can click home

I think thats it for now… If you have any comments, suggestions, additions, or whatever i’m HAPPY to hear them. You can either email me directly or use the Contact link above..

Have Fun!

2014 Steinauer Family Reunion

Terry sent out details about the Steinauer family reunion planned for this summer.

This year we are shaking up the reunion!  For those arriving on Friday, events start in the evening with a wine tasting at Schilling Bridge Winery. On Saturday the fun continues with golf in the morning.  In the afternoon there will be a self-directed walking tour of the township starting with the dedication of the Steinauer Post Office and at 2 PM a tour at St. Anthony’s by Fr. Courtney. Late Saturday afternoon there will be a picnic dinner at Dana Farms. It is a great setting for families. Horseshoes, volleyball, bag games and fishing will be available. Sunday will start with a memorial mass at St. Anthony’s. After mass we will gather at the K of C Hall for our traditional potluck dinner.  Stay after dinner for the family meeting.  There will be a special presentation about the launching of the website.

Since the Steinauer brothers arrived in the United States, the family tree includes over 2000 living descendants!  This may be an understatement because the tree has not been updated since 2004.  We are soliciting members of each family that enjoy family history, to help us with updating the tree.  We will be sending out, separately, a form to aid in gathering information.  Peter Steinauer has developed a site that will provide excellent security to protect information.

If you would like to get more information on the reunion and / or be added to the evite just drop us a line using the contact form above.
